It's Coastline Time!
The picture above is taken at the 13th Annual Carolina Beach Music Awards where of the eight awards received, JimQuick and Coastline amassed five awards including Song, Group Album, Blues Song, Blues Album, and Group of the Year not to mention the Live Production award presented to Coastline's road manager, Ken Holland and two awards received by Jim Quick as Entertainer and Song Writer of the Year.
During the four hour event, Jim Quick and his talented band mates performed their hit song, “Turn Me Over” from their latest Landside Records national release, Sneakin’ Out Back, returning to the stage again and again to collect the awards voted on by their peers and fans.
Jim Quick, self-proclaimed lead screamer, entertainer and janitor, is a six-time winner of the Entertainer of the Year award. When asked which award received was the icing on the cake, he was initially perplexed. “When the people feel I am the ultimate entertainer, I appreciate it, I love it, and I never take any of it for granted,” Quick said. “However, the more I become a lover of music itself, I have found I really love writing. So to win the ‘Songwriter of the year award’ is just the most amazing honor.”
The songwriting is only good as the band who performs and Quick is backed up by five multi-talented members: Glenn Tippet (vocals, keyboards, saxophone), Albert Rogers (vocals, bass), Mark Roberts (vocals, trombone), Casey Meyer (lead guitar), and Bill Warren (drums). Both Roberts and Rogers each have solo albums to their credit. While the band is in awe of their many accolades, they get a lot of satisfaction from their fans reactions at more than 240 tour dates currently booked in 2007 alone.
The popular band has extended their regional roots to airplay in more than 140 markets across the country with their two recent albums on the Landslide record label. Overseas requests for CD’s and tour dates are a result of internet and satellite beach and blues shows that play Jim Quick & Coastline’s music. However, their unique sound defies classification, fitting best into the Americana category for it’s bevy of blues, soulful backbeat, rock, R&B, country, folk and jazz. It’s the eclectic nature of the music, the sheer talent and high entertainment factor that keep fans coming back for more Coastline time.
